Christmas Video, Part 1 of 3

The website that I use to post these videos has a 10 minute limit per video, so I chopped this up into 3 segments. Enjoy!

More Christmas Pics, Part 3

This picture of Cindy and Jack is one of Paul's favorites, because of their expressions.

More Cristmas Pics...

More Christmas pictures. He's got a little room to grow into the rocking horse!

Boy's First Christmas!

The Boy had a big first Christmas! As predicted, he was sometimes more fascinated with the paper and boxes than the presents, but he did play with everything for at least 3 seconds. Ok, maybe 2. He got lots of musical types stuff and he seemed to love that. Anything he can smack and make noise is fun! Also, everything was duly tasted and pronounced delicious. More pictures above.

The First Christmas Celebration!

Jack had a ball visiting his Grandmama, Granddaddy, his Aunts and Uncles, and his cousins in Columbia, SC. He had fun opening presents (the paper was the best fun)! He enjoyed teething on the new puppies toys also. Many thanks to Carole, Al, Lindsay, and Carlyn for the great hospitality!

The Horror of Working With Females

Jack works every day with Cindy, Kristina, Alison, and Sandy. He'll probably be scarred for life.

More Apres Bath

Jack loves a bath! He splashes and has a big old time. When he hears the bath water running, he comes running (ok, crawling, but really fast)! After the bath he is usually not in the mood for any shenanigans, like getting dressed. He does love that hooded towel though!

Sells Mill Park

A few weeks ago, Paul took Jack down to the Sells Mill Park (I just got a chance to upload the pictures). This is a little park run by our county. He loved going down the slide and swinging. Dad couldn't figure out how to take a picture of the two of them swinging together. Too bad they didn't have the little wrap-around toddler swings.

Not a patient Little Man

When he wakes up from a nap he is often very happy, and I'd love to get some good pictures. but he doesn't usually like to stay still for the camera. There are about 45 other pictures of the "Baby Blur."

Miscellaneous Growing Boy

Top to bottom:
**Jack sometimes loves being in his playpen. Sometimes not. But he always stands up in it, either to dance and talk, or to wail and complain.
**He absolutely adores the "Magic Desk." We got it from a friend who had it for their kids. It is great, the (very low resolution) green screen shows pictures and it says all sorts of things, trying to teach numbers and letters and such. He doesn't really care, he just like to bang on it! The best thing of all is that it opens and closes! Anything that opens and closes is the bomb! (Note: that means "good")! We get to hear "Bye-bye" and "Peek-a-boo" endlessly.
**Peas and turkey aren't that big of a hit. :-(

Grandfather Mountain

On Saturday, we went up to Grandfather Mountain. We saw some of the wildlife (bears, cougars, deer, and a bald eagle) up close and Cindy and Paul went over the "Mile High Swinging Bridge." Well, Cindy just "went"; Paul gritted his teeth and managed to stumble across. Cindy kept stopping to make helpful suggestions like "Look, Paul. It's not that far down." And then there's the ever popular "Wow, isn't it fun when the bridge sways like that"! On the way back she made Paul pose for a picture. He may look casual, but there are dents in the metal railing from his grip!
Never fear, Jack was safely ensconced in Jane's arms at the base of the bridge area. He had a nice nap, she said. We saw several people carrying their small children in their arms across the bridge. We could just imagine the child doing a patented squirm and "Weeeeeeeee", off the bridge they would go.

Thanksgiving

We went up to Jane and Bill's for Thanksgiving. Jane must have thought our names were "Hansel" and "Gretel" because she stuffed us full of food. The turkey was fabulous! Jack tried some and loved it, the little bit he could wrestle away from his mom. Cindy didn't even wait to dig in, just ripped a turkey leg right off! (She ate the whole thing by the way)! Jack has also discovered that he can "pull up" on stuff. He hasn't done that much at home, because Paul and Cindy long ago got rid of the coffee table (too easy for dog's to destroy stuff). We're in trouble now.
On Friday, we went to see Cindy's parents. Jack loved playing with their coffee table too, and he got to see some cows. More turkey again, and some ham this time!

Sly boy

Isn't this just the most sly look you've ever seen? That's his favorite toy, by the way.

Swingin'

Jack went to the park the other day with Alison. (Alison is Cindy's employee who takes care of Jack during the day). She said he had a ball playing in the swings. She took this video of him with her camera phone, so it's a little small. Thanks Alison!

Uh oh!

Today, two milestones. First, Jack learned to pull up in his crib. He now likes to greet you at the crib while he's in a standing position. I suppose it's still going to be difficult for him to dive out, but Daddy is nervous!
The second new thing he discovered is cupcakes! Not by design though. Cindy and her employees were having a Halloween celebration complete with cupcakes. Jack was in his highchair, right beside the table with all of the food. Whilst no one was watching, he decided he was going to taste the cupcakes. Cindy said he was shoving them in as fast as he could! Good boy! Needless to say he had to have a bath and a change of clothes!
