Soccer

We did this thing this spring called Smart Start Soccer. Jack was old enough, Lily wasn't at the time. They mostly concentrated on just learning skills like passing, kicking, stopping the ball with their feet, etc. The majority of each session was spent convincing Jack to actually participate, rather than run back to Mama. They should rename it "Teaching Parents Patience," but I guess that's the other name of "parenting."

On the last day they had a little scrimmage. Jack had a major pout fest because they ran out of yellow jerseys and they tried to get him to wear a green one. No way! Eventually one of the other parents convinced their kid to trade and Jack could play. Yay! Lily enjoyed going because she always found one of our neighbors who had bribes for good behavior.

Christmas Train, 3

As you can see, there was no delaying the enjoyment of the candy. Lily's favorite word is 'candy,' although it comes out as something like 'ganyee.' Once the train gets to the end of the outbound trip, it unhooks, then passes back by the cars and hooks to what was the rear of the train. Then hauls us back to the station.
