Uh oh!

Today, two milestones. First, Jack learned to pull up in his crib. He now likes to greet you at the crib while he's in a standing position. I suppose it's still going to be difficult for him to dive out, but Daddy is nervous!
The second new thing he discovered is cupcakes! Not by design though. Cindy and her employees were having a Halloween celebration complete with cupcakes. Jack was in his highchair, right beside the table with all of the food. Whilst no one was watching, he decided he was going to taste the cupcakes. Cindy said he was shoving them in as fast as he could! Good boy! Needless to say he had to have a bath and a change of clothes!

Visit with the Stubbs

While we were at Jane and Bill's house (see below), we took a day to go see Cindy's Mom and Dad, Wilma and Adrian Stubbs. Jack had a ball, showing off his Cheerio eating skills!

First Snow! Second tooth!

We went to visit Jane and Bill (Paul's Aunt and Uncle) in the NC mountains for a week this October. Jane and Bill went on a cruise, so Jack helped Paul and Cindy to take care of Jane and Bill's kitties. While we were there, he got to see his first snow! It was just a skiff of snow, but it was bitterly cold! Jack helped Mom and Dad feed the goldfish on a really cold day. He loved to play with the empty cola bottle, and he showed off his new tooth! (Since it's his second tooth, we call it the "twoph"). He was also fascinated by the pile of magazines, and as you can see, he almost disappeared under them. Thanks Jane and Bill! The stay was great!

Hep-cat!

Jack has this black turtleneck that we put on him because it's gotten a little cold. He looked like he needed a beret and a cigarillo, and he'd be a 1950's jazz musician! Cindy called him the "Hep-cat!"

By Popular Demand...

This is a picture taken BEFORE his first haircut. See why why had to shear the boy?

Frankenstein Frank

Alternate hat for the Halloween costume!

Frank (Tyner) Family Reunion

The Jack had fun at his family reunion. When we first got there, a bunch of people gathered around to see Jack, and he was a little scared. Gradually he warmed up and let himself be held by some other people. He played in the floor for a while and loved his new books (Thanks, Beth and Family!). Paul and Cindy had a great time visiting with everyone. Eventually Jack got sleepy, but having a nap was not a happening thing, so Cindy had to carry him back downstairs and hold him swaddled in his blanket. He thought he was King of the Party!

Thanks Kyle and Richard for hosted such a fun party!

The next day, he got to wear his Halloween outfit and play with his cousins. Don't you just love the "ghost" hat! My favorite is the Frankenstein hat (See above post). We let him wear his Halloween stuff often, because of course it won't fit for long!

First Haircut!

Well, the vote was 60% for an immediate shearing, so we were forced to get the boy a haircut. (20% said wait until he was a year old, 20% said they liked the Harley dude ponytail idea!) Here are pictures of him before (top 2) and after (bottom 2) the cutting. The "before" pictures don't really do justice to the extremely long state of his hair. He did very well, only getting a little bit fussy. Notice Mom was in the "drying" stage of getting her hair done. Dad had to take time off work to properly memorialize the event in pictures and moving film. I'll try to upload the video in the future. That's Jo, of Jo and Co., who did the shearing.

Crawling...well, almost.

We have to watch out now when we put Jack on the floor, 'cause he is a moving boy! He is so close to crawling, but for now he just rolls everywhere. Everytime I put him on the floor I start singing the theme to a 1950's TV Western with a star who later went on to be mayor of a small California town. These are pictures of The Jack as he went au naturel (sort of) on our living room floor. In the bottom picture he is saying "Youse wanna piece o' me?", as he pats his bulging bicep.

Mom's Birthday

Mom and Dad went into Atlanta this past weekend to celebrate Mom's Birthday. We stayed in the city overnight and R.V. (The Super Sitter) took care of Jack and the Herd. It was our first night ever where we were both away from Jack! But we had fun anyway, knowing that R. V. was on the job. Obviously, Jack wasn't too worried, as the pictures of him after we left demonstrate.
