Circus!

We recently went to the circus in Raleigh! It was a blast. The kids seemed to like the clowns the best, although the 'princesses' (female acrobats and dancers) were a big hit with Lily. Jack was initially very concerned that the tigers might get him, but he got over it. It's really hard not to laugh every time Lily says 'Look at the efalunts!' And you can see that she wasn't a big fan of the noise (it was very loud).

Cornwallis in Hillsborough!

The weather was perfect for the Revolutionary War re-enactors to put on a little demonstration. Apparently, Cornwallis camped in Hillsborough for a few days in February of 1781. So, the Rev. War buffs use that time to do their thing. It wasn't a big deal, but it was interesting. They had typical camp items, guns, food, etc. Then they put on a short exhibition of marching and firing the muskets. You can see what Lily thinks of the muskets! The scream you hear in the video isn't Lily, but she probably agrees with the screamer!

Valentine Parties

Valentine's Day parties at the daycare. We waited to leave for RH so they could go to these parties, and that's why we got into the snow (see below). Wouldn't have missed it! Jack had any especially good time with his buddies. The one in the #5 shirt is Karsten, Jack's main partner in crime. They are usually separated during anytime the teacher's want to get anything done! Ada (short dark hair in the front left) is the only girl in the group, but she prefers it that way! She's just as rambunctious as the boys!

Snow follows us everywhere

So we thought we'd escape some of the snow by going to RH. But it even found us there! The last 30 miles of the trip were in a heavy blizzard. No kidding, it was really snowing!
Jack and Lily love to play with Will and Anna. All of the pictures I have of Jack and Will are ones where Jack is trying to tackle Will!

Party day

Last weekend Cindy took Lily to the bowling alley along with some of the neighborhood friends. They had a ball (literally)! Lily loved the video games (even without paying to play them) as much as anything else.
Then, later in the day, the weather was so nice (60's) that we decided to have an impromtu block party. Two basketball goals got put out in the cul-de-sac and everybody brought out whatever food they had and we had a big time!

Another Red Letter Day!

Although this wasn't documentation of the ACTUAL first time, this was one of the first. The day when we can quit carrying diapers around is not yet upon us, but we can see it from here!

Why we can't grow pansies...

This picture was taken from Paul's office window. That's our backyard with the deer running through it.
