Christmas Train, 2

The appearance of Frosty the snowman was much ballyhooed by the younger set all over the train. The only thing that outdid Frosty was the anticipation of Santa! (Daddy couldn't keep the camera still over that section of track). We got really quiet for Santa, but no fear or crying. Candy canes!

Christmas Train

We took the kids to the Christmas Train at The New Hope Valley Railway. Santa Claus was on the Train! The kids had a ball, but Daddy was cold!

Hair Barrettes

Today was the first day that we tried Lily with her hair barrettes. She finally has enough hair to need them! Of course, Jack had to have one too. He wore it happily for about 15 minutes, then abruptly discarded it. Lily wears hers happily, but it occasionally falls out because her hair is so fine.

The first picture is called "Mine!" or "It's more desirable if someone else has it" or "The hourly disagreement".

Holiday Decor

Yay. Christmas in the apartment.

Thanksgiving at Jane and Bill's, Part 3

Anna loves Jack, Lily loves sweet potatoes, and Paul and Bill love football/sleep.

Thanksgiving at Jane and Bill's, Part 2

Jack had a ball feeding the ducks and geese down in Banner Elk. We also got to feed the fish at the pond near the house, but the fish were dormant. Will and Anna loved trying to throw rocks through the ice.

Thanksgiving at Jane and Bill's

The kids had a ball playing in the leftover snow. Sledding and snowballs and running and yelling. In the picture with the snowman ("Frosty!"), Jack isn't just looking down, he's pouting over something.

Links

Hey! I just wanted to remind everyone about the Links section over to the right (you might have to scroll down to see it). Mostly we've used this for silly stuff, but I've also added a charity to the link. If you're looking for a place to spend some charity money, I'd encourage you to look at this site. It's Child's Play, a charity where all of the money goes to children's hospitals. You can pick your favorite or nearest children's hospital, and buy items for them directly, or choose to give money directly to the charity.

Ok, PSA over. Back to our regularly scheduled programming.

Halloween 2008

Jack wanted to be "Sportacus" from his favorite show, "Lazytown." Lily had a blast a bunny. We took them to the mall in Chapel Hill and toted them around in the wagon. Most of the stores had someone out front who was doling out candy. Jack was very good and said "Trick or Treat!" and "Thank you" although he did need some coaxing at times.
